Two Arrested In Russian Museum Theft

St. Petersburg's Hermitage museum (file photo) (epa) August 5, 2006 -- Russian news reports say police have arrested two men accused of involvement in the theft of  jewelry, silverware, and enameled objects from the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
The Interfax and ITAR-TASS news agencies quoted unidentified police sources as saying that the two suspects could help establish the location of about 70 of the stolen museum items.

The disappearance of 221 objects worth about $5 million was discovered during a recent inventory.
