August 17, 2006 -- Russia's Minister of Trade and Economic Development German Gref has warned that Russia could run out of natural gas for its domestic market between 2007 and 2009.
Gref told government officials in Moscow that Russia could the shortfall could total 6-7 billion cubic meters over the three years.
