Car Bomb Kills At Least 7 South Of Baghdad

A police officer on the scene of a car bomb explosion in Baghdad on October 12 (epa) October 16, 2006 -- At least ten people have been killed and 15 wounded in a car bombing in a market in the Iraqi town of Al-Suwayrah, south of the capital, Baghdad.

Meanwhile, the bodies of eight men were found around Baghdad overnight.


The deaths follow a weekend of sectarian violence across the country that saw more than 70 people killed.


A national reconciliation conference has now been postponed indefinitely due to "emergency reasons."
