October 19, 2006 -- Uzbekistan's official news agency says a civilian airplane with 13 army soldiers and two crewmembers on board crashed today near the country's capital, Tashkent.
News agency UzA quotes the Emergencies Ministry as saying no one survived the early-morning accident.
The Uzbekistan Airways (Ozbekiston Havo Yollari) An-2 aircraft crashed while attempting an emergency landing after weather conditions suddenly deteriorated.
UzA says a government commission has been set up to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
