Serbian Parties Agree On Coalition Government

Tadic (right) with Prime Minister Kostunica (file photo) (epa) March 2, 2007 -- The rival parties of Serbia's president and its prime minister today agreed in principle to form a coalition government.

In a statement released after talks between aides to President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, the two sides said a stable government is needed to bring stability and development to Serbia.

A formal agreement was not signed.

Today's developments come more than a month after Serbs voted in a general election with no clear winner.
