April 5, 2007 -- Kosovo's parliament has overwhelmingly endorsed a UN plan that proposes internationally supervised independence for the UN-administered Serbian province.
The plan, which Serbia rejects, needs to be approved by the UN Security Council to take effect.
Kosovo's assembly has been boycotted by ethnic-Serbian lawmakers since 2004 violence against the Serb minority in the province.
