May 8, 2007 -- Ukraine's president today accused rival lawmakers of dragging out the process of agreeing on a date for new parliamentary elections.
Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych ended more than a month of political deadlock last week by agreeing to President Viktor Yushchenko's demand for early elections.
But the two left it up to their political allies to sort out when the vote will be held. Yushchenko wants the vote in July, while Yanukovych's allies have suggested October or November.
