Protesters in Almaty on May 30 (RFE/RL)
May 30, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- Kazakh police today detained three people who were protesting peacefully in Almaty against recently adopted changes to Kazakhstan's Constitution, RFE/RL's Kazakh Service reported.
It is the third such case over the past two weeks.
On May 29, police detained a journalist protesting the changes saying she had broken laws on holding mass gatherings.
The constitutional amendments will allow President Nursultan Nazarbaev to run an unlimited number of times for reelection.
