Tehran Rejects U.S. Charges It Is Destabilizing Iraq

U.S. officials have pointed to Iranian-made weapons found in Iraq as evidence of Iran's interference (file photo) (epa) August 11, 2007 -- Iran today rejected U.S. suggestions that Tehran is working against stability in Iraq.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said "the insecurity in Iraq is the result of the wrong policy and incorrect decisions by the United States."


U.S. President George W. Bush on August 9 warned Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki against becoming too close to Iran amid al-Maliki's three-day visit to Tehran this week.
