Strong Quake Hits Japan

A massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit northeast Japan on March 11, triggering a 10-meter tsunami that swept away everything in its path and caused extensive damage. Public broadcaster NHK showed a vast wall of water full of debris, as well as fires across a large swathe of coastal farmland near the city of Sendai.
