Azerbaijan Oil Company Clashes With Locals Over Demolition

Several residents of the village of Sulutepe on the outskirts of the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, clashed with employees of the SOCAR state oil company as they were demolishing local homes. An award-winning investigative journalist, Idrak Abbasov, was assaulted by SOCAR security personnel while reporting from the scene and later hospitalized. (RFE/RL's Azerbaijani Service)
