Hundreds of protesters temporarily blocked a road in Kyrgyzstan's northern Issyk-Kul Province to demand the nationalization of the country's largest gold mine, Kumtor, currently operated by a Canadian company. Protesters used a truck, trees, and later, burning tires to block access to the area, but later removed the roadblocks. Some protesters remained at the site despite warnings from police.
