OSH, Kyrgyzstan -- The Kyrgyz Interior Ministry says it has seized a large quantity of illegal drugs in the southern city of Osh, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.
An Interior Ministry spokesperson said on April 2 that security forces in Osh found more than 21 kilograms of heroin, about 108 kilograms of marijuana, and a Kalashnikov assault rifle in an apartment on April 1.
The owner of the apartment was taken into police custody.
The Interior Ministry said the drugs were brought to Kyrgyzstan from neighboring Tajikistan and were to be shipped to Russia via Kazakhstan.
