Urals Locals Get A Kick Out Of Abandoned Tanks

Russian officials are facing embarrassing questions over video showing more than 100 modern tanks that were apparently left unguarded next to a rural train station in Yekaterinburg.

AFP and Reuters (both 100) differ from Russia Today (200) on the numbers, and even on the class of tank (T-80 vs. "mostly T-72").

But there's no disputing the images as curious locals wander around the hulking, snow-covered tanks and even climb inside. (Yes, they're unlocked.)

A Urals military spokesman is quoted by Russia Today as saying the tanks were left there in November "on purpose while being relocated."
