A former U.S. Marine who last year was part of a prisoner swap between the United States and Russia has been injured while fighting in Ukraine, the State Department said on July 25. Trevor Reed, who was imprisoned in Russia for nearly three years until he was exchanged for a Russian pilot in April 2022, was taken to Germany for medical care, State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said.
