Police in Armenia's northeastern Tavush Province forcefully pushed protesters and their cars off a road they had been blockading since late on April 19. The police action followed warnings to the protesters to allow traffic to pass. Residents of Tavush started their blockade after authorities in Armenia and Azerbaijan announced a border-delimitation deal under which Baku will regain control of four formerly Azeri-populated villages in the area. Locals say the deal will strip them of their land and easy access to the rest of Armenia.
