Armenia has summoned the Russian ambassador to protest "insulting statements" made against Armenian officials during a Russian television broadcast. The Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on October 24 that it had protested "the broadcast of a program on the Russian state outlet Channel One, during which insulting and totally unacceptable statements were made against high-ranking Armenian officials." The name of the program wasn’t specified, but, on October 23, Channel One aired a program criticizing Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian for his handling of the conflict with Azerbaijan and his aims to become closer to the West.
