Police in Russia's Perm region on August 30 launched a manhunt to catch a former inmate, Artyom Buchin, who is suspected of killing a 28-year-old woman and her daughter after returning from the war in Ukraine. The victims’ bodies were found a day earlier. Local media published photos of the suspect and a physical description of him, according to which, the 28-year-old was sentenced to 20 years in prison in February 2023 on a murder charge. He was pardoned after he signed a contract with the Defense Ministry and joined Russian troops invading Ukraine. Buchin returned to his town of Chusovoi in November.
