Search planes flying out of Australia to the southern Indian Ocean have so far failed to find any debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines jet.
Satellite images of two floating objects in the area some 2,300 kilometers from western Australia have given new hopes of finding traces of the missing jet.
One of the objects on the satellite image was 24 meters long, and the other was five meters.
Australian officials said the search would continue over the weekend.
Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss, however, said the objects seen on the satellite images -- which were taken six days ago -- may have sunk.
The Malaysia Airlines plane disappeared while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8 with 239 people aboard.
Twenty-six countries have been involved in the search for the missing jet.
