There are three candidates facing off against longtime Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka in presidential elections on October 11. But for many, Lukashenka's real opponent is a man who is not running. Mikalay Statkevich has spent years trying to change Belarus, but when he ran for president in 2010 it earned him five years in prison on dubious charges. Released in August, he's boycotting the election -- preferring instead to fight from the sidelines for what he regards as real democracy in Belarus.
