Three bombs targeting police have killed more than 20 people in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk and injured some 80 others.
Police said the first bomb, which was attached to a car, exploded in the parking lot of the city's police headquarters on May 19.
A car bomb detonated shortly after when police rushed to the scene.
Hours later, a third bomb went off near a police patrol not far from the site of the first two blasts. Together, the bombings were the worst to hit Kirkuk in more than two months.
Kirkuk is 290 kilometers north of Baghdad. It has been for years an ethnic flashpoint among Kurds, Arabs, and Turkomans who each claim the oil-rich city as their own.
