Ukrainian Charged In British Muslim Murder

British police have charged a Ukrainian man with murdering an 82-year-old Muslim man in Birmingham, central England, last April.

The charges are described as “terrorist-related.”

The suspect, Pavlo Lapshyn, 25, was arrested July 18 as part of a separate investigation into explosions at several mosques in central England.

The probe of those blasts, which did not injure anyone, is continuing.

Lapshyn is described as a post-graduate student from Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine.

West Midlands police said officers of a counterterrorism unit would soon travel to Ukraine as part of the investigation.

In another development, a 22-year-old Ukrainian who was also detained last week in connection with the blasts has been released without charge.
