Tens of thousands of people joined an official rally in the Chechen capital, Grozny, against cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published by the French magazine Charlie Hebdo. The crowds chanted "Allahu akbar" (God is great) and were addressed by Chechnya's pro-Kremlin leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Speakers also criticized Western governments for allowing other media to reprint the caricatures. (AFP)
