TBILISI -- Georgia's Constitutional Court has decriminalized marijuana use.
The court ruled on November 30 that the use of marijuana or other forms of cannabis-based drugs cannot be considered a crime.
Georgia's existing Criminal Code defines repetitive use of marijuana and possession of more than 70 grams of dried cannabis as a crime for which individuals can face punishment that does not include imprisonment.
The opposition Girchi party has led a drive to decriminalize marijuana use.
The party has been fighting to legalize marijuana since November 2016.
