Georgian politicians cast their ballots in the October 26 parliamentary elections. "Our predictions are very optimistic," Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said. Bidzina Ivanishvili, the tycoon who founded the ruling Georgian Dream party, called the opposition "foreign agents" in a reference to the country's controversial law on foreign influence that had made the European Union halt Georgia's accession process. Pro-EU President Salome Zurabishvili said the elections "will be a victory … of all of Georgia."
