The stakes are high for the European Union with voters in France set to go to the polls on Sunday, May 7 to pick a new president. It's a choice between pro-EU candidate Emmanuel Macron and far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen who wants to take France out of the bloc and build closer ties with Russia. Going into the second round vote, polls showed Macron with a commanding lead. But many French voters could abstain from the election, making the race closer than expected. (Reuters, AFP)
