U.S. State Department: No Improvement For Human Rights In Iran

The U.S. State Department has criticized the Iranian government for a wide range of rights violations in its 2014 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. Speaking in Washington on June 25, Tom Malinowski, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for democracy, human rights, and labor, cited rights abuses including harassment of the media, repression of minorities, and the use of torture.
