U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has met with the family of a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran six years ago.
Kerry said in a statement that he met with Robert Levinson’s wife and son.
The statement reiterated that the United States government “remains committed" to locating Levinson and reuniting him safely with his family.
The statement called on Iran to uphold its offer to help find Levinson.
Levinson disappeared after March 8, 2007, while visiting Iran’s Gulf island of Kish.
The FBI has offered a $1 million reward for any information that could lead to the safe return of Levinson, who retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1998.
Iran's government has said it has no information about Levinson's whereabouts.
