Iran and Pakistan have announced in a joint statement that their respective ambassadors will return to their posts and that Iran's foreign minister will visit Islamabad next week in a sign the neighboring states are rebuilding strained ties. Pakistan recalled its ambassador to Tehran and had not allowed his counterpart to return to Islamabad after Iran and Pakistan exchanged missile strikes last week at what they said were militant targets.
