Iraqi authorities say more than 20 people were killed in bomb attacks targeting Sunni mosques in Baghdad.
At least 16 people were reported killed in the first blast late July 13 at the Khalid bin al-Walid mosque in Baghdad’s southern Dura neighborhood.
It struck just after late-evening prayers held during the holy month of Ramadan.
Officials reported at least five people were killed in a second blast a short time later at the Mullah Hwesh mosque in western Baghdad.
It was not immediately clear who was responsible.
The blasts came a day after a suicide bombing in the northern city of Kirkuk killed around 40 people.
