Reports: Car Bombs Kill 14 In Baghdad

Reports from Iraq say two car bombs exploded in Baghdad today, killing at least 14 people.

The attacks appeared to be aimed at police officers as well as Shi'ite pilgrims making their way to the holy city of Karbala.

Police and hospital officials said one of the blasts struck near a police vehicle in the northeast Shi'ite neighborhood of al-Shaab, killing six people, including policemen.

The second bomb went off in the western neighborhood of Muwasalat, which is largely Sunni.

However, authorities said that blast, which killed eight, appeared to have targeted Shi'ite pilgrims.

A wave of attacks primarily targeting Shi'as has killed more than 90 people in less than a week.
