An attack on a military base in the northwestern Pakistani city of Bannu has killed at least three soldiers and injured 50 others. The incident began with an early-morning blast on July 15 at the fortified base, and fighting was reported to be continuing hours later with gunmen inside the facility. A previously unknown group called Jaish-e Fursan-e Muhammad claimed responsibility for the attack. RFE/RL could not independently confirm the existence of any such armed group.
