BANNU, Pakistan -- Five people have been killed and seven others injured in a shooting at a wedding ceremony in the city of Bannu in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
Local police officials told RFE/RL that the incident took place late on April 11 at a musical performance that was part of wedding celebrations for the brother of a local police officer.
Police gave few details, but residents who witnessed the incident say a group of armed men forced their way into the celebrations and opened fire.
The brother of the groom shot back but was then killed by the attackers.
It is not clear if any of the assailants were among those killed.
