Two people were killed in a plane crash in Russia's Nenets Autonomous Region, north of the Arctic Circle, on January 9. Media reports quoted emergency officials as saying a private An-2 single-engine biplane crashed near the town of Karataika. There were 12 persons aboard, including two pilots.
