Rohani Says Nuclear Deal Possible By July 20 With Goodwill

Iranian President Hassan Rohani has urged world powers to reach a deal with Tehran by a July 20 deadline to end the crisis over its nuclear program.

He said in Tehran June 14 that "the disputes can be resolved with goodwill and flexibility."

He also said international sanctions on Tehran had been softened by his government's policy of détente and "will not be rebuilt" even if there is a failure to reach a final agreement.

Iran and the six world powers will hold another round of talks in Vienna from June 16 to 20.

The previous round of negotiations in Vienna last month ran into difficulties when it became clear the number of centrifuge enrichment machines that Iran wanted to maintain was well beyond what would be acceptable to the West.
