The chief of Romania’s intelligence service said on July 3 that he is resigning, asserting that it is a danger for democracy for one person to remain in such a position for too many years. Eduard Hellvig, 48, who assumed the position atop the SRI intelligence service in 2015, said he had informed President Klaus Iohannis about his decision.
