A military court in Siberia said on May 4 that it had two days earlier sentenced Ansaghan Moldakhmetov, a Kazakh citizen, to 13 years in prison for throwing Molotov cocktails at a conscription center in the city of Omsk in May last year. The court convicted Moldakhmetov of terrorism. Investigators said Moldakhmetov and another Kazakh national who is currently at large conducted the arson attack after an unknown person offered them $13,400 online for the attack. After Russia launched its ongoing invasion of Ukraine, dozens of conscription centers across Russia were attacked by Molotov cocktails.
