Russia has unveiled the medals for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Organizers manufactured some 1,300 medals for Russia’s first Winter Olympics, which will be held in the Black Sea resort in February and March 2014.
The medals are 10 millimeters thick and 100 millimeters in diameter.
Organizers said a total of three kilograms of gold was used to make the gold-plated medals.
The front of the medal features the Olympic rings while the reverse contains the name of the competition in English and the Olympics logo.
The Olympic Games' name in Russian, English, and French is engraved on the rim.
