Tolokonnikova In Hospital After Arriving In Siberian Prison

Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova attends a parole hearing at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Mordovia in July.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova's husband says the jailed Pussy Riot member has been moved to a hospital for convicts after arriving at a penal colony in Siberia.

Pyotr Verzilov, who spoke to his wife on the phone, said on November 14 that she had been weakened by a recent hunger strike and was currently at a regional tuberculosis hospital in the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Russian authorities confirmed on November 14 that Tolokonnikova had arrived at a penal colony in Krasnoyarsk Krai, where she was transferred after going on a hunger strike to protest conditions and alleged death threats by officials at a prison colony in Russia's Republic of Mordovia.

Her relatives had not heard from her for more than three weeks.

Tolokonnikova is serving a two-year sentence for a 2012 performance in a Moscow cathedral that criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin.
