A fire in a private house in the town of Leninsk-Kuznetsk in the Siberian region of Kemerovo has killed a woman and three children. The Investigative Committee said on January 20 it has launched a probe into the fire that occurred the previous evening. Deadly fires in Russian residential buildings often occur as a result of using electric or gas heaters or ovens in freezing weather, as heating systems in many remote places are outdated and need replacement or repair.
