Afghan officials say several suicide bombers have attacked a local police training center in eastern Paktia Province, killing three policemen.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
A spokesman for the local governor said at least three suicide bombers attacked the police training area in Zazai district in Paktia, which borders Pakistan.
One of the attackers blew himself up, one was gunned down by security forces, and a third escaped.
Two other policemen were injured in the attack.
Insurgents are stepping up attacks on Afghan security forces whose role will increase as U.S.-led NATO troops prepare to hand over responsibility for security in seven areas ahead of the planned end of combat operations in 2014.
