Tajik, Russian Nationals Suspected Of Deadly Church Shooting In Istanbul

One Tajik and one Russian were detained in Istanbul over a church shooting, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said late on January 28, describing the two men as members of the Islamic State (IS) extremist organization. Earlier in the day, two masked men opened fire at the Italian Santa Maria Catholic Church in Istanbul's Sariyer district, killing a Turkish citizen. Yerlikaya also said that following the attack, police raided dozens of locations in Istanbul, detaining 47 suspects. IS claimed responsibility for the attack.
