Turkish officials say a British couple and their four young children who were detained last month on suspicion of trying to join Islamic State militants in Syria will be deported to Moldova.
A senior Turkish official said on May 5 that Asif Malik, his partner Sara, and the four children were detained in Ankara two weeks ago after British police appealed for information on their whereabouts.
One Turkish official said the family will be deported to Moldova "of their own will."
A second Turkish official confirmed the family was being deported to a country other than Britain but did not give further details.
The British Foreign Office said it could not immediately comment.
It was not immediately clear why the family asked to be deported to Moldova.
