Large Explosion At Yemeni Ammunition Factory Seized By Militants

Residents near an ammunition factory in the southern Yemeni town of Jaar report several large explosions at the plant after it was seized by militants.

Gunmen reportedly from the Salafi Jihad group seized the factory on March 27.

The cause of the blasts was not immediately clear, but witnesses said people were looting the factory when the explosions began.

Government officials and hospital officials said up to 70 people were killed, but there has been no independent confirmation of casualties.
