Minority Serb residents of northern Kosovo protested the proposed full opening of a key bridge in Mitrovica on August 7, decrying it as a symbolic threat. Members of the ethnic Serb community are angry over the closures of Serb-run postal facilities and the rejection of Serbian currency by Kosovo.
