Operation Iron Fist, which began its seventh day today, has 1,000 U.S. Marines operating in Anbar Province near the Syrian border.

The U.S. military said 20 alleged militants were killed in Al-Husaybah on 5 October in bomb attacks on an abandoned hotel.

The U.S. military said a second operation in Anbar Province, but along the Euphrates River Valley, has uncovered 10 improvised explosive devices since it began on 4 October.

Operation River Gate has deployed 2,500 U.S. soldiers and 350 troops from Iraqi Security Forces.
