Russian Government Moves To Make Ruble Convertible


(ITAR-TASS) June 29, 2006 -- The Russian government has approved amendments to the country's currency regulations to make the ruble fully convertible.


The move follows a call by President Vladimir Putin to remove restrictions by July 1.


The changes still need to be approved by parliament.
