Russian Economy Minister German Gref on August 17 said Russia would withdraw import privileges on the imports if Washington did not endorse Moscow's bid to join the World Trade Organization within three months.
A spokesman for the U.S. Trade Representative's office, Sean Spicer, said such a move by Russia would violate trade agreements.
