U.S., Serbia Sign Military Cooperation Accord


Serbian President Boris Tadic (left) with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Washington (epa) September 7, 2006 -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Serbian President Boris Tadic today signed an accord on U.S.-Serbian military cooperation.


Tadic said in Washington that the agreement is a step toward expanding bilateral relations.


The accord foresees the eventual deployment of U.S. troops on Serbian territory.


Rice and Tadic also discussed current talks on the final status of Kosovo and Serbia's cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal in the Netherlands.
