12 Dead In Russian Helicopter Crash


Mi-8 helicopters (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) September 12, 2006 -- The death toll from the crash of a Russian Mi-8 military helicopter near the city of Vladikavkaz has been raised to 12.


ITAR-TASS, citing an official at Russia's North Caucasus military command, said four other service personnel remain in serious condition with injuries from the September 11 crash.


The report says three generals and at least eight other high-ranking officers are among the victims. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
